There are job opportunities that seem too good to be true. And oftentimes they are. If you constantly see the same position being reposted every couple of months, proceed with caution because it could mean that no one has been happy in that role therefore there is a lot of attrition. Or it could be that the position reports to a tyrant who is never satisfied with anyone he or she hires. If the position appears to pay much more than the rest of your industry, proceed with caution. It could be that the manager knows the working conditions or work hours are so extreme that the only way to keep employees is to pay a premium; which is ok as long as you know about this beforehand so you can make an informed decision. If you received a job offer without the standard interview process, proceed with caution. Although this may seem very convenient for you it could mean that the company is so desperate for employees that they are willing to hire anyone who will consider their offer. And although you are a great employee it could mean that your coworkers are less than desirable.
None of these examples are surefire reasons not to consider a job opportunity but my advice to job seekers is to DO YOUR RESEARCH! These days there are plenty of resources job seekers can use to gain information about the company they are considering. Employers are using several resources to find out as much as possible about potential new hires. Job seekers should do the same.
